Outdoor School leaders. To receive funding from Oregon's new Outdoor School program districts/schools need to answer a few questions and email the answers to Oregon State. The details are in the following document. The application process first has this survey to gather data for planning and the second piece of the process will be a formal application for funding. The program intends to fund programs starting this fall in 2017, but the leadership needs more time to get organized. This means funding will be retroactive for some districts and the school or district will need to take on the risk if funding doesn't materialize. For some new outdoor schools this may mean waiting until the spring of 2018 or later to start a program to avoid the financial risk.
At Glen's Gizmos we hope you will be able to use this new funding to bring us into your outdoor school program or allow us to help you start a program for the first time. If you have been running an outdoor school now is your chance to make it even better by using the state funding to allow us to support your program with equipment and expertise.
Private schools. I'm looking into how your school can receive funding. Stay tuned.
Availability of state funding may also allow flexibility for your school to bring new educational opportunities to your school. If this is the case we hope you will consider our STEM Classes and Discover STEM Programs at your school.
