Also, we will be cutting the slot at the top and the hole at the bottle for the cork. Middle & High School Please watch the videos below! We will try to complete as much of our boxes as we can during class. If you are able to come back to work on your project later that day while I am not teaching you are welcome to while I am still there. High School (Returning students) Here are some videos to help with centering and forming different shaped pottery. One of the best ways to learn different technics is by watching videos and PRACTICE. Elementary Please come prepared to make two pinch pots and assemble them together next class session. We only have four weeks left so we need to stay focused and work hard on finishing each project during class time. The class is only 1 hour long so try your hardest to do your work even when I am helping other students at the time. I have been allowing students to stay extra time in the studio to get their work done, however if your parent needs to go or if you have other classes to attend; you need to clean up your area, wrap your stuff up and head out. (The extra time I provide after class is a privilege so if you are responsible and diligent in your work you will be allowed to stay longer if need be.) High School (Returning Students) When you came into class be ready with ideas you want to create. The expectation from now on for returning High School students is that you will come into class and just start working on your project. You do not need to wait on instructions from me. Please quietly get your supplies, as this will be during the time I am speaking to the group. Every week I will be posting different ideas for homework to help you get started. Feel free to do the project that I have planed for that week if you would like. ( I just wanted to provide the freedom for students who have an itch for creativity.) For the last hour we will open up the wheels to be used. (Please review throwing on the wheel videos)
Elementary If you are a returning student and you have made a pinch pot before; be thinking of other ways you can make different types of pinch pots. I want to encourage all my students in this class to look up different forms of pinch pots on line if possible. One of the best ways to help our creative juices to flow is to look up other artists examples. ( Draw a picture of the pinch pot you want to make or print off a picture that you like and bring it to class). We are so excited about the Media Team that is forming at the new Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center! Young people have already written scripts, held auditions, and will soon be recording their scripts in our new studio! We believe that some of these productions will end up airing on Christian radio stations around the world.
Because we are trying to “jump-start” our media team, we are offering a group discount! If we can get 5 students registered for the Storytelling 101 class by this Friday, we will offer the class for $25 (+Admin Fees)! Normally it is $100! If you would like to take advantage of our “groupon”, please email back before Friday night and let us know. We’ll only register your student for the class if more than five others also register and the price drops to $25. The entry into our media team is through our Storytelling 101 class. However, this class isn’t just for young adults who want to make an audio drama, it will be a huge benefit to adults of any age that want to write a book, a short story, audio/video drama or any other tale that shares an eternal message. We would love to have your student in class! UPDATE: 5 Students have already registered! Contact Pat Roy today with questions and email Carol VanBoxtel at [email protected] to get your student registered.
