Elementary Please watch this video before class, and if you need more inspirational ideas look up other coil building videos. Also, it's helpful to draw a picture of how you want your coil pot to look. I have examples of drawings below. Middle & High School Please watch this video before you come to class Tuesday. If you are a returning student please review this video and also look up other videos to help with new ideas. I would like all my students to draw a picture of a coil pot, bowl, or figurine you would like to make. pictured above are a few examples of some drawings. Middle School & High school Please watch the video below: I would like you to create a themed Coil pot that is several layers tall. In this video are pictured examples of different themed coil creations. You will not get it done in one day! Please come with a drawing of something you would like to create. High School (Returning Students) When you came into class be ready with ideas you want to create. The expectation from now on for returning High School students is that you will come into class and just start working on your project. You do not need to wait on instructions from me. Please quietly get your supplies, as this will be during the time I am speaking to the group. Every week I will be posting different ideas for homework to help you get started. Feel free to do the project that I have planed for that week if you would like. ( I just wanted to provide the freedom for students who have an itch for creativity.) For the last hour we will open up the wheels to be used. (Please review throwing on the wheel videos)
Elementary If you are a returning student and you have made a pinch pot before; be thinking of other ways you can make different types of pinch pots. I want to encourage all my students in this class to look up different forms of pinch pots on line if possible. One of the best ways to help our creative juices to flow is to look up other artists examples. ( Draw a picture of the pinch pot you want to make or print off a picture that you like and bring it to class). High School For the 2nd hour of class I will have my returning high school students finish up their tea pot projects and my new students learn how to throw on the wheel. We are so excited about the Media Team that is forming at the new Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center! Young people have already written scripts, held auditions, and will soon be recording their scripts in our new studio! We believe that some of these productions will end up airing on Christian radio stations around the world.
Because we are trying to “jump-start” our media team, we are offering a group discount! If we can get 5 students registered for the Storytelling 101 class by this Friday, we will offer the class for $25 (+Admin Fees)! Normally it is $100! If you would like to take advantage of our “groupon”, please email back before Friday night and let us know. We’ll only register your student for the class if more than five others also register and the price drops to $25. The entry into our media team is through our Storytelling 101 class. However, this class isn’t just for young adults who want to make an audio drama, it will be a huge benefit to adults of any age that want to write a book, a short story, audio/video drama or any other tale that shares an eternal message. We would love to have your student in class! UPDATE: 5 Students have already registered! Contact Pat Roy today with questions and email Carol VanBoxtel at [email protected] to get your student registered.
