$18.00

NOW with a $10 coupon code. See our post in the Vancouver Homeschool HUB Group in the NEW Homeschool HUB Online for details. Not a member yet? Ask to join the network, then find the post in the discussion.

Date: Saturday February 13

  • Time: Anytime from 1:00-8:00pmYou'll want to arrive between 1:00-6:30pm as they take around an hour and a half to finish.

  • You will have to return in the following weeks to pick up items after they come out of the Kiln. Dates TBD. We will make sure there are lots of options for pickup times.

Families, please join us glazing mugs and boxes for valentines day. This could be for a couple, a child and a parent, or a grandparent and grandkids, or ... you decide. The mugs and boxes we have are matching sets.

This year available designs will be based on the stock on hand.

In the form below you will purchase them in sets with two matching parts per set. Please plan accordingly.

*For example each person may have their own 1/2 of a set. Or if bringing kids perhaps one child paints the bottom of a box while the other paints the lid. Because there are two matching boxes in a set four people could participate from one set this way. We are leaving it up to you to decide how many sets to purchase and how to assign roles if bringing kids.

This experience makes a great valentines day gift for a spouse, another couple, a parent and a child or even grandparents.

Please select the date and time along with the type of ceramic items you are choosing, then set the Quantity for the particular design. To add more designs add your first design to your cart then return here to select an additional design.

Elementary Hands-On History / Tues 11:00-12:00

$84.00

Sold out

My name is Melissa Draszt, I am a mom of three sweet boys that I’ve homeschooled for 9 years. I enjoy teaching history through fun interactive projects that foster a relaxed learning environment, while utilizing problem solving and communication skills, they see their ideas come to life.

In Hands on History class we step back in time to experience historical events, figures and cultures through short lessons and fun hands-on activities. Our goal is to find a love and curiosity for history through creativity and fun!

In class we will have 6-week sessions where students will have an opportunity to work individually and in groups to create fun projects each week that include crafts, food and games. If you have taken this class with me before you are welcome to take it again! Some of the units may be repeats, but this is a great way to review history and get some class time.

Some topics we have covered in the past include:
  • Vikings
  • Native American Culture
  • Stonehenge
  • Helen Keller
  • Albert Einstein
  • The Wright Brothers
  • Colonial History
  • The Great Pyramids
  • Middle Ages
  • Early Settlers

Intro to Leathersmithing - Upper Elementary to Adults / Fri 1:30-2:30pm

$100.00

Only a few left!

Weekly 60 minute classes.

Learn this art from a professional leathersmith!

Participants will learn basic skills : cutting, measuring, stitching and just taking joy in simple creativity as they craft their own items including one-of-a-kind leather journals!

Students can take this class independently, though we expect it will also appeal to parents so we are allowing adults to register as well. Leathersmithing often provides a great opportunity for teens to socialize and make new friends!

If parent's are going to be creating their own crafts and participating alongside their students then both need to be registered independently. If they are there to assist their child then only the child needs to be registered. If registering a child under 11 years old please plan on sticking around for the first class to check in with the instructor and make a plan. The fine motor skills may require parent help for young students. You can also email Kav in advance at sojoleatherco@gmail.com to ask questions and make arrangements.

Check our calendar for details. This class will follow the Quarterly calendar, except for third quarter which will only be five weeks for this class starting on March 5th for Third Quarter. Fourth Quarter will be 7 weeks and follow our calendar. The calendar can be seen posted here.

While the eggs are soaking up dye, we will learn some basic chemistry about eggs and dyes, sip on hibiscus iced tea (hibiscus flowers make a great dye!), and participate in fun activities such as preparing a simple origami box with which to bring home your family’s eggs. Come experiment with us in this workshop that combines art and science!
