Pilot Episode: When Life's a Wreck
Join the crew of the Sand Dollar as Joel and Roxy take Grace and Christian to dive into history on the wreck of the Alaska Reefer, previously known as the USS Pinon in the emerald sea. Their journey will take them 55 feet down to visit the skeleton of this ship laid down by the US Navy for service in World War Two. While in service the USS Pinion served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters tending antisubmarine nets for the allied forces.
Grace and Christian were recently trained to SCUBA Dive, on this trip they join professional divemasters Joel and Roxy. This wreck is the largest wreck they have been on to date and will challenge their skills as new open water divers. Our dive team encounters marine life, including clusters of beautiful tube worms, opalescent nudibranch, and numerous fish species all in God's garden of giant plumose anemone. Before climbing back onboard the dive team comes face to face with the current Captain of the ship on the keel!

About Us: Joel and Roxanna started a ministry called Glen's Gizmos in 2016, originally a traveling children's museum and operator of Outdoor School programs for Public, Private and Homeschooling Students. Prior to that we worked full time for a large Christian Camp founding an outdoor education program, and before the camp I worked as an upper elementary school teacher. We now serve homeschoolers and private Christian schools almost exclusively as we have become more overt in our Biblical Creation Beliefs and direct about presenting the gospel message over the years. Recently we went through a name change to Creation Calling to accurately honor this shift in our focus. We primarily speak and teach Creation science in and around Portland, OR. Sometimes it is trial by fire as we encounter significant spiritual warfare and resistance to God where we are called to work. Yet, we are blessed to be where God wants us.
