Joel and Roxy have a lending library at the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center! The library is located next to the science tent in the warehouse. Please borrow books, magazines and movies. These resources are their personal collection so we ask that you protect and return them within two weeks so that other families can enjoy them. They all have the "Property of Glen's Gizmos" stickers on them.
Watch for these new books!
Roxanna and I (Joel) have adopted a new pet, and for the time being she will live in our Vancouver classroom, a ball python. This snake was neglected and the picture here doesn't show it, but she is primarily skin and bones (for now) from being chronically underfed by a previous owner. When we first got her she was starving, striking at anything that moved inside or outside the aquarium.
Is it dangerous if it bites you? Keep it away from faces and there is no significant risk. It isn't venomous, it does have teeth, but not fangs. You probably wouldn't need to do much more than wash the bite with soap and water to get it to heal quickly. Snakes sometimes will hold on after biting. If it does this a little hand sanitizer in the corner of its mouth will encourage it let go quickly.
What's the name? Stay tuned, we're working on that.
Inspiring students to STEAM ahead.
