    Parent Workshops

    • What: An educational one day event, half day event, or series of workshops over several days.
    • When: Starting this summer, offered throughout the year.
    • Where: Camp Tilikum (Near Newberg Oregon) and possibly other locations
    • Who: Homeschooling Parents
    • Why: To expand homeschooling parents' knowledge base and sharpen teaching skills.
    This could be a full day of workshops, half day of workshops, or series of workshops over one week.  Housing could be provided for parents, or it could be a day event.  Joel and Roxanna Thomas would present classes and bring in exceptional speakers or specialists in their field and present classes related to science, technology, engineering and math.

    Our goals:
    • Content which honors Christ.
    • Excellence in education.  We want these workshops to attract exceptional presenters and support parents as they teach through high school. 
    • Each session will have both hands-on concrete and abstract concepts appropriate for teaching children of all ages.

    Cost would likely range from $60-140 per person each day, depending on # of meals, speaker cost, equipment and material cost, and if an overnight stay is part of the program.
