Hi IronMen,
Here are the details for tomorrows fishing and crabbing trip. There are changes, please read carefully.
- 1 - We are changing our meeting time to 10 am from 9am. I Looking at the tides I think a later meeting time will work just fine and the weather is supposed to improve throughout the day. Plus 10 will be easier than 9am anyway. That will put us arriving at a low slack tide then fishing/crabbing over the low slack, the incoming tide and the high slack tide.
- 2 - We are changing our meeting location. The original location at Barview required parking passes. The new location in Garibalidi does not. Please meet at 10am at 1209 Bay Ln, Garibaldi, OR 97118. Directions are attached as well from Tillamook and Seaside. Basically take 12th street down towards the bay on the NW end of Garibaldi. Then turn right and follow bay street to the end where a parking lot will be waiting for you. This is the parking lot for the historic coast guard boat house at piers end. (http://www.savegaribaldipier.org). The parking and water access are both good from here.
- 3 - We will be using an 18 foot rib (think commercial zodiac inflatable boat like the coastguard and military uses) and trading back and forth between beach exploration and fishing/crabbing throughout the day 1/2 at a time. We won't venture far into the ocean this time, I don't expect anyone to get seasick.
- Bring a lunch. Supper will be what we catch. Bring supplemental snacks as well and some to share if you feel like it.
- A suggested packing list and other details can be found here: https://www.glensgizmos.com/boat-trip-details.html Expect overcast weather with the possibility of a drizzle. Bring clothing in layers.'
- Hats and sunglasses can be nice, remember to bring things with straps so they don't blow away on the boat.
- See you soon!
